Antoine Jaoude

Tango Remote Control electro sound-project

The band Tango Remote Control came to life when childhood friends Antoine A. Jaoude (instrumentalist) and Roland Ragi (sound producer/programmer) got together on a cold January afternoon in 2007 and decided to make a band. Not quite sure which direction to take they started experimenting with drum machines, guitars, synths, and old Casios. They were both heavily influenced by the pop culture infused 1980′s and spent their childhood, watching National Television zapping between Dabkeh and Tango competitions. The result: a slightly bipolar approach to music making that, along with the rest of the Lebanese population, sits somewhere between two cultures, and switches back and forth through a remote control to pick the one that fits most.
